Different types of adverbs can go in different places. You can find out more by checking the individual types, but generally there are three main positions.
1.1 Where adverbs do not go in a sentence
We never put an adverb between the verb and the object.
correct: → We often play tennis.
incorrect: → We play often tennis.
2. The three main positions of adverbs in a sentence
2.1. Adverb at the beginning of a sentence
Tomorrow I have a meeting in London.
2.2. Adverb in the middle of a sentence
It will probably rain at the weekend.
2.3. Adverb at the end of a sentence
The children are playing upstairs.
3. More than one adverb at the end of a sentence
If there are more adverbs at the end of a sentence, the word order is normally:
Manner – Place – Time
Susan sang the song beautifully in the bath last night.
