1. Use of the Conditional Perfect Simple
We use it for something that might have happened in the past and to talk about what would have been the result.
It is basically the main clause in a Third Conditional type sentence.
would + have + past participle
past participle → (infinitive + –ed) or (3rd column of the table of the irregular verbs)
I would have visited you if I had known your address.
