How do we form the will-future?

We form the will-future with the auxiliary will and the infinitive of the verb.

We use the the same form of the verb every time regardless the subject.

In British English we sometimes use shall instead of will for the first persons (I/we).

will + infinitive

1. Affirmative sentences in the will-future

  • will play football.
  • You will play football.
  • He will play football.
  • She will play football.
  • It will play football.
  • We will play football.
  • You will play football.
  • They will play football.

2. Negative sentences in the will-future

  • will not play football.
  • You will not play football.
  • He will not play football.
  • She will not play football.
  • It will not play football.
  • We will not play football.
  • You will not play football.
  • They will not play football.
